Benefits of faculty affiliation with CSAVI

  • Research opportunities in core CSAVI focus areas,
  • New collaboration with peers in Clemson and industry partners,
  • Incentives for awarded projects. CSAVI affiliated faculty route proposals submission through CSAVI. It brings 10% of indirect cost to CSAVI. Institute will return 4% of this money to PI.
  • RESPONSIBILITIES OF LEADERSHIP

    Co-Directors

  • Serve as main liaison between the Clemson University, funding agencies and the institute
  • Explore research and funding opportunities for the Institution
  • Develop long-range strategies plan for the Institution
  • Engage industry advisory board in the Institution's long-range strategic planning
  • Deputy Directors

  • Support Directors in CSAVI's day to day operation
  • Coordinate with core lab lead scientists
  • Prepare progress reports
  • Arrange institute's internal and outreach activities
  • CSAVI Scientists

  • Manage/lead current projects
  • Report the progress to institute and prepare reports for funding agencies
  • Develop new research ideas
  • Identify potential industry partners (i.e. funding sources)
  • Participates in identification of research topics valuable to industry partners and public funding agencies
  • Develop summary for each research topic and communicate to potential funding partners
  • Develop long-term collaboration with partners through funded projects
